Abstract:     PCT No. PCT/US95/06985 Sec. 371 Date Nov. 13, 1997 Sec. 102(e) Date Nov. 13, 1997 PCT Filed May 31, 1995A powered skateboard including a foot support, multiple wheels mounted to the foot support, and a motor coupled to at least one of the wheels. The powered skateboard further includes an active control system having a sensor located on the skateboard and a controller. The controller receives electrical signals from the sensor and electrical signals from the motor, which indicate the state of the motor. In response to those signals and in accordance with a control mechanism, the controller sends electrical signals to the motor to control the operation of the motor.

  • a plurality of wheels rotatably mounted to the foot support;
  • a motor coupled to at least one of the wheels; and

    • the controller, in response to electrical signals from the sensor and electrical signals from the motor, indicating the state of the motor, and in accordance with a control mechanism, sending electrical signals to the motor to control the operation of the motor.
