The protector is shaped to fit the leg, the front being of hard elastic, shock proof material externally and padded internally and is laced up the back of the leg with a taper passing through a series of slits arranged vertically above one another on either free end of the gaiter. The shield body is pref. of polystyrene, polyethylene or polypropylene.
