The steering element (1) is pivotably movable around a cross control axis (3) vertical to the vehicle cross direction. For control of the vehicle longitudinal movement the equipment is movably linked and extends on at least one side of the vehicle seat past the seat cushion (11) and upwards, where it terminates in an end-side hand grip (2a,b). The operating equipment is U-shaped, extending on both sides of the driver seat and ending upwards in hand grips. It is linked to a driver seat assembly and the seat is longitudinally displaceable in relation to it.
