    1. A mixer reactor (22,56) for mixing chemical reactants into a waste stream, for the purpose of treating and removing certain waste products contained in said waste stream, comprising:
      a generally "U"-shaped tube (124,180) having first (126,182) and second (128,184) upwardly extending vertical portions;
      an inlet connected to said first vertical portion (126,182) for delivering said waste stream into said mixer reactor (22,56), with said first vertical (126,182) portion having a static mixer portion (134,190);
      means (26,54) for delivering a chemical reactant into said first vertical portion (126,182), wherein said reactant is delivered therein at a location between said inlet and said static mixer (134,190); and
      an outlet (136,190) connected to said second vertical portion (128,184) for delivering said waste stream from said mixer reactor (22,56).
