Abstract: |
The fondue fork consists of a handle (1) equipped with a fixed steel rod (2) which has a pronged tip (9), and a second rod (3) which can slide lengthwise relative to the first. The fork has a push-button (4) at its upper end and a thrust element (8) at its tip which enables it to push a piece of meat off the prongs when the button is depressed with the thumb. The sliding rod is spring-loaded inside the handle of the fork, and its thrust element is in the form of a spiral on the tip of the rod which is wound round the fixed rod. The fork's handle and push-button are made from wood or rigid plastics, while the rods are made from food-grade stainless steel. Advantage - Enables a piece of fried meat to be taken out of a pan of hot oil and deposited on the plate without the risk of splashing or of burning the fingers.
