Spectacles.- Spectacle sides or temples are formed of fine wire, square in crosssection, twisted or spun into spiral formation so that the spirals close tightly together to form a flat, smooth and even outer surface, thus dispensing with subsequent hammering. A solid or tubular core may be provided or the core may be of similar tightly wound spiral formation. Part of the temple may be a straight piece of metal united to the spirally wound portion by screwing or soldering.
