Abstract: |
779.472. Goggles. FISCHER, H. G. S. July 4, 1955 '[July 3, 1954], No. 19283/55. Class 97(1) A frame for protective spectacles is formed of a single piece of wire which is bent to encircle and resiliently retain two separate split rims having side shields and carrying the glasses or lenses and which forms the bridge and the two securing temples, which resiliently embrace the side of the head. Preferably, the split rims are of pliable plastic material or metal and, as shown in Fig. 2, are provided with internal grooves 2 to retain the glasses or lenses and external grooves 3 to accommodate the encircling wire 1, Fig. 1. The parts of the temples and bridge which come into contact with the head may be covered with india-rubber or plastic material and the wire may be of steel and sufficiently flexible to be bent to the size of the wearer. The rims are provided with shields 4 and 5.
