PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the system and method for controlling transmission of a data stream to a plurality of clients in a multi-cast group from a server.
SOLUTION: One of clients 110 in a multicast group is designated as a leader. When a server 130 receives a service request relating to transmission of part of a data stream from any of the clients 110, the server 130 determines whether or not the service request comes from the leader. The server 130 makes multiple address communication of part of the data stream to the client 110 in the multicast group in response to the discrimination that the service request comes from the leader. Otherwise, the multiple address communication is not made.
