Abstract: A tie construction in the form of a composite including thin flexible outer layers of synthetic resin sheeting and a layer of synthetic resin foam between the outer layers; the composite being heat sealed and simultaneously die cut to a desired necktie pattern; the outer layers of the tie being impermeable to stains of all kinds; the stains being readily removed therefrom.

I claim:     1. A four-in-hand necktie including an overlying end portion, an underlying end portion, and a neckbank region intermediate said end portions, said necktie comprising a flexible front film panel, a flexible back film panel and a lining between said front and back panels, said front panel and back panel being of the same general configuration and forming coextensive peripheral edges, said panels being constructed from polyvinyl chloride material and said lining being constructed from polyvinyl chloride foam material, means thermally sealing only the coextensive peripheral edges of said panels and lining together whereby the lining is compressed between said panels and is free of the opposed surfaces of said panels, said thermal sealing means forming a peripheral feather edge extending completely around the peripheral edges of the superposed panels and lining.
