Show all 8 claims		 What is claimed is:     1. In a method of removing contaminants from a gas stream emanating from a fluidized bed particle coating furnace in which nuclear fuel particles are coated with carbon or silicon carbide by the thermal decomposition of a hydrocarbon or a chlorinated silane, said furnace containing fissionable material capable of nuclear criticality in the presence of hydrogenous moderating material, the improvement comprising scrubbing said gas stream with a liquid scrubber consisting essentially of a member selected from the group consisting of perchloroalkenes.
