Abstract:     Exochelins can be used to prevent damage to organs for transplant from the formation or presence of the +574 OH radical. In particular, the invention is directed to the administration of exochelins to the organ prior to or coincidental with removal from a donor, storage, implantation in a recipient or in conjunction with reestablishment of flow of body fluids to the organ.
