A Derwent Saved Search is a tool that allows you to save a frequently-used Derwent search so you can quickly execute that search any time without having to reconstruct the query.
A Derwent Alert is a companion tool that allows you to select a schedule and automatically rerun your Derwent Saved Searches and either store the results for later review or email the results directly to you.
Together, these tools give you a perfect way to easily and efficiently monitor competitor and industry patent activity.

Derwent Saved Searches and Alerts have two pricing components:
- Alert charges which may apply each time an Alert is run
- Derwent Search charges inherent in the running and re-running of Saved Searches
Charges are impacted by the frequency you choose to have your Alerts run. Please note that Delphion Basic registrants do not have access to Derwent.

For Delphion Unlimited subscribers: An unlimited number of Alerts are included as part of the Delphion Unlimited Subscription. See the section on search charges (following) for the additional Derwent charges associated with this feature.
For Delphion Premier subscribers: Alerts are available on a pay-per-use basis. See the section on search charges (following) for the additional Derwent charges associated with this feature.
Premier subscribers are charged per Alert, each time an Alert is generated and the charges continue to accumulate until the Alert is turned off. Charges for this automated Alert service are set by run-frequency and not according to the amount of data you capture. There are no additional charges for email updates. See the section on search charges (following) for the search charges associated with this feature.

Derwent access is available to Unlimited and Premier subscribers on a per-use cost basis. Each time a Derwent Saved Search or Alert is run, you will be charged $4. If you choose to view any Derwent Records from your Saved Search or Alert Result Set, you will be charged $6 per Derwent Record viewed.
The following guidelines apply to the pricing of Derwent searches in conjunction with the Derwent Saved Search and Alerts feature:
- A unique Derwent Saved Search can be rerun as many times as you want within an update period and there will only be one charge for running that Saved Search.
An update period is the time that a collection remains the most current one available on the Delphion website. As soon as a new update to the Derwent collection is posted, new search charges are applicable if/when you rerun your Saved Search. See our Collection Coverage and Update page for more information on collection updates.
- Modification of a Derwent Saved Search really creates a new or additional Derwent Saved Search and as such, run charges are calculated separately from other searches you may also have saved.
