Installing the JavaTM Plug-in
Updated: Jul 20, 2004

The JavaTM 1.3 or higher plug-in is required for use of Delphion's Citation Link. If you do not have the required Java plug-in installed when you attempt to access Citation Link, you will be automatically taken to the Sun Microsystems, Inc. website to begin the installation process.

If you are not automatically taken to the Sun Microsystems website to download the plug-in, you can go there directly: http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html.

Overview of the Java plug-in installation process:
  1. You will first be asked if you trust Sun Microsystems to install the plug-in. Click Yes to continue.

  2. The Java plug-in will download to your computer.

  3. Once the download is complete, the Java Runtime Environment installation process begins. Click Next to continue.

  4. Review the Sun Microsystems Software License Agreement and, if you agree with the terms, click Yes, to continue the installation process.

  5. The default destination for the software installation is c:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.0. Change the destination folder if you wish, or click Next to continue.

  6. Select the browser you will be using and click Next to continue.

  7. The installation continues.

  8. The Delphion files required for Citation Link are then automatically loaded on your computer.

  9. The following screen displays allowing you the ability to display our Security Certificate before granting or denying the installation and running of the signed applet. Click to Grant this session or Grant always to complete the plug-in installation process.

  10. The Java coffee cup icon will display in your Windows system tray confirming that the Java plug-in is running and installed correctly.
