SUBJECT: Data Extract: More Fields, More Applications and Faster
Data Extract now exports original patent data to Derwent Analytics, creating the only solution in the industry specifically designed for analyzing both Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI) data and original patent data.
In addition, Delphion has added a Data Extract format for EndNote, Reference Manager, and ProCite, three Thomson Scientific bibliographic management products, as well as two Extensible Markup Language (XML) formats for custom applications.
Also, Data Extract now exports abstracts, first claims, independent claims and the number of forward references as well as nine other new fields (bringing the total to over 40 fields) and does all of this 20 times faster than before.

Delphion recently rolled out a new format for its INPADOC Legal Status data in response to changes made by the European Patent Office. This includes the addition of new description data and discontinuation of over 500 legal status codes.
The new data received from the EPO includes more details about description information, enabling better labelling of this data for a clearer, more meaningful presentation. These changes are reflected in the Delphion Integrated View, the Family Legal Status Report, and the Derwent Record.
Most of the discontinued codes pertained to common actions that are included in normal bibliographic data, such as granting, filing applications, establishing priority dates, etc. This information is duplicated data that is already available on patent records, and is already shown on the Delphion Integrated View. The reduction in codes has caused a reduction in the number of records that now have legal status data.
A list of the discontinued codes is posted on the Delphion website:

The remaining legal status codes can be viewed on the Legal Status Browse Codes page:

In order to make sure that you are seeing the most up to date and complete INPADOC Legal Status data, Delphion has completely re-converted and reloaded all legal status data.
