CHICAGO — September 18, 2000 — Delphion, Inc., a leading intellectual property marketplace and solutions provider, today announced the appointment of Woody Ritchey as Chief Executive Officer. Ritchey brings to Delphion more than 20 years of experience in technology sales, marketing, and management.
Delphion, previously known as IBM's Intellectual Property Network (IPN), was spun-out from IBM (NYSE: IBM) in May of this year and capitalized with $35M from Internet Capital Group (NASDAQ:ICGE).
Ritchey comes to Delphion from Savvis Communications, where he served as executive vice president for international sales & operations; prior to that he was president and general manager of Invisix, a joint venture of Motorola and Cisco focused on delivering wireless internet services worldwide. His earlier positions included several executive and global management assignments with Motorola's Cellular Infrastructure Group.
"Woody's depth of experience in building and running productive organizations of all sizes makes him the ideal choice for this position," said John Hamm, managing director of operations at Internet Capital Group.
