Corporate Tree

Overview
Corporate Tree helps you find US, European, and now WO records by Assignee name by helping end the confusion caused by mergers and acquisitions and the many different ways an Assignee's name can be represented on a patent document.

The inclusion of WIPO PCT Publications (WO) applications is of particular significance because many companies use WO filing as a way to register a "first occurrence." This means that, very often, the WO application is the first publication to appear in the public domain — and so it is the very first indicator of patenting activity in a certain field or by a certain competitor. Basing your search on Corporate Tree hierarchy data from the WO collection can alert you to the early moves of your competitors.

Details
The Hierarchy feature in Corporate Tree shows you how an Assignee name fits into a corporate hierarchy — taking into account mergers and acquisitions. And then lets you search for patent records by selecting Assignee names from within the corporate hierarchy display. This means you can find applications and patents filed by companies that no longer exist as legal entities and whose patents have been reassigned to "new owners."

The Original Assignee feature in Corporate Tree helps you discover all US patent records that belong to your target Assignee — even when they have been filed under different variations of the Assignee name. This means you don't need to perform separate searches for each variation of the name.

With Corporate Tree, you can search by company name or code and quickly and easily select Assignee names to be used for your search. A single click puts selected Assignee names in your search form for you.

The Hierarchy feature includes data on 2,500 of the top patent holders and is provided by our partner 1790 Analytics. Hierarchy data is available for US Granted, EP Applications and Granted, and now applications from the WIPO PCT Publications (WO) collection.

Corporate Tree's Original Assignee feature is valid for the US Granted and US Applications collections only, and contains data supplied by the USPTO.

Pricing
Corporate Tree is free for Delphion Unlimited subscribers, and $15 per day for Delphion Premier subscribers.
