Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI) on Delphion

Overview
The Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI®) is the most comprehensive database of enhanced patent information in the world. Derwent helps simplify and speed your research by providing, among other important features, patent titles and abstracts written in English — using clear, consistent, industry-specific terms.

You can include DWPI records in your Delphion Work Files providing an ideal way for groups of users to share and collaborate on research findings.

Delphion Data Extract enables export of DWPI data in a variety of formats — including one for Derwent Analytics
SM. This is the only export in which DWPI data can be combined with patent office data in a format specifically designed for Derwent Analytics, a powerful Thomson data mining application.

You can also analyze your DWPI data with Snapshot and Clustering — and you can bulk download PDF images using PDF Express.

Delphion allows you to combine the power of DWPI data with the easy-to-use collaboration, analysis, and productivity tools for which Delphion is well known.

Coverage
DWPI covers more than 13 million inventions from over 40 different international patent-issuing authorities. More than 350 industry specialists in Chemistry, Engineering, Life Science, and Electronics do the classification and indexing. Derwent experts review approximately 27,000 patent documents every week — there are 22.5+ million patent documents currently in the database and 1.5 million records are added each year.
